A weekend in Paris

Paris has definitely been the highlight of my time in Europe! I left on October 23rd, an early Friday morning and was in Paris by 10:00am. The first day I hiked around the city by myself while I was waiting for Kristine to get there. It wasn't quite as warm and sunny as Madrid, but it was in the 60s and partly sunny. I walked about 4 hours and stopped for some food - it was the best panini I have ever eaten and ranks high on the 'Pat's all time best food' list. When Kristine got there, we found a place to get some crepes and wine...mmm.

On Saturday we walked and saw the sights. We made it to 'Hotel des Invalides' where Napoleon Bonaparte is buried, the Eiffel Tower, the Arch de Triumph, Le louvre, Notre Dame, and a few more places. It was rainy and a bit foggy but made for some great pictures. We met up with Leah and her roommate and went for dinner and back to the Eiffel Tower to see it lit up.

On Sunday we went back to Le Louvre to actually go inside. We saw Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, a stature of Ramses II, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and many more. Afterwards we hiked up to the Monmartre District were there is a view of the entire city. I left for the airport that night in order to be there on time (my flight closed at 5:45 and the metro didn't open until 5:30...).

Here are some of the best pictures:
